  • The Scrum Master is responsible for implementation and oversight of scrum processes applied to operations throughout the organization and/or in specific work units. 
  • This position is responsible for coaching team members in scrum methodology, leading scrum events, and eliminating barriers to assure successful sprints. 
  • This position proactively collaborates with all stakeholders to support release planning and foster team decision-making, while facilitating collaboration between the scrum team and Product Owner.
  • The purpose of this contract position is to successfully support cross-functional scrum teams to add value efficiently through the practice of scrum events and agile principles.

Resources usually spend their days:

  • Coordinating and facilitating all scrum events throughout the lifecycle
  • Facilitating and participating in the daily scrum
  • Helping the team maintain their burndown chart
  • Shielding the team from interruptions during the sprint
  • Removing obstacles that affect the team
  • Walking the product owner through more technical user stories
  • Encouraging collaboration between the scrum team and Product Owner

Required tasks to fulfill primary responsibility:  

  • scrum master certifications like CSM
  • 7 years experience
  • Provide and communicate backlog tracking, monitor burndown charts and product metrics, forecast velocity, and oversee the flow of work related to tasks associated with each requirement (user story).  
  • Coordinate and facilitate all agile events making sure the team is working smoothly and every team member has tools to get their work done efficiently.  
  • Forecast the numbers of scrum deliverables possible in an iteration, which is based on evidence and reliable source. 
  • Remove product impediments while continuously negotiating with the product owner throughout the product development life cycle. 
  • Improve the efficiency of the development team. 
  • Provides continuous education to the scrum team on agile methodology. 
  • Manage scrum team conflicts while keeping the product on track within the agreed upon budget.
  • Ensures the scrum team completes the work they commit to.
  • Influences upstream, that is to upper management and leadership across the business to ensure the progress of agile transformation/journey is not interrupted.
  • Coach scrum team members on agile principles
  • Utilize tools such as Azure DevOps, ServiceNow and Google
