Interview Type: Skype  *** Remote; 37.5 hours per week***

The current registration application used by the Aeronautics Bureau has been in place for over 20 years and requires ongoing maintenance and support from DoIT@DOT to maintain business needs.  The app to be migrated is MS Access coded in VBA SQL Server.

 

Submitted candidates must have experience working with MS Access/VBA applications in order to successfully review the current application and understand how to build the new one.

The new front end development will be built using ASP.net/C#/Web Forms/TSQL.

Front end logic will be moved out of MS Access and the design will be to create SQL server views (data views with parameters) visible to users.

Currently registration is one unified application. This will be divided into individual standalone modules including: 

  • Day Book
  • Registration
  • Administration
  • Letters (new)
  • Ad Hoc reports (new) grid like filterable views with export ability

Selected resource will attend meetings in which they will demonstrate and discuss the work performed for the week. They will also attend daily 5minute stand up meetings to ensure that goals are clear and quick questions can be answered. The resource will also observe and participate in user acceptance testing.

Required Skills

  • 5 years of Web development experience using ASP.Net w/C#
  • Experience working with applications developed in MS Access/VBA
  • 5 years of Web Forms development experience using Telerik AJAX 3rd party tools
  • 5 years of Experience with Transact SQL (TSQL)
  • 5 years of Development experience with Javascript, HTML, CSS
  • 5 years of SQL Server views and procedures

Highly desired skills

  • Specific experience migrating applications from MS Access/VBA to ASP.NET/C#
