This project is a functional migration from one platform to another (Unix to Linux) and will incorporate the recommendations from a previous engagement that assessed viable options and prepared detailed requirements to move to a supported platform. The project is to lift the architectural stack from one platform and shift it to another, with the least amount of impact.

The current relational database management system (RDBMS) that supports the legacy system is Informix, and Informix will remain as the RDBMS in the new platform. However, the Informix database software must be upgraded to a level (14.10 or higher) that is compatible with the new operating system (Linux) and the data and images must be migrated to the new platform. The State anticipates that the new platform will be RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) to be run via VM within a State datacenter.

certified Informix database/system administrator with the skill set and knowledge base to prepare for and execute both the upgrade and the migration of Informix to the new platform.

Required Skills

• Five (5) years experience in Database Administration role(s)
• Two (2) engagements, within the last five (5) years and lasting at least six (6) months each, in Database Administration roles using Informix 11.5 with Unix operating system
• One (1) engagement in a Database Administration role using Informix 14.10 with Linux operating system
• Certified in Informix Database Administration or Informix System Administration
