**** Federal/DoD Contract - Must be a US Citizen; must be willing to go through a background check *** 100% Onsite - No remote due to security***Initial PO till 9/30/2020 with multi year extensions; usually the project goes for 4+ years with this customer**

*** Customer works on 4/10 schedule. The standard work week consist of ten (10) hours of work between 6:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. with one half hour designated as an unpaid period for lunch, Monday through Thursday ***

Duties

Performing air dispersion modeling using AERMOD and CAMx. • Performing atmospheric modeling data analysis. • Perform air emission calculations. • Attending interface among the regulatory agencies,  contractors. • Researching and development of policies and procedures for the new program. • Providing technical support to the program with applicable criteria and toxic and radioactive air emissions. • The permitting focus area of the position is radiological, criteria, and toxic air emissions in order to demonstrate compliance with local, Washington State, and federal regulations. • Applies sound professional judgment on work product with the ability to work in a team environment under sometimes-stressful situations in support of project and organizational needs. • Develop policies or procedures within the area of responsibility as applicable. • Prepare and deliver environmental presentations, training, and perform compliance and/or specialty assessments as requested; prepare technical documents and calculations. • Preparing regulatory analysis memorandum and/or interpretive guidance. • Provide support to  operations regarding Clean Air Act (CAA) compliance if needed.


Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering with 5+ years work experience with at least 5 of those years directly related to air regulations interpretation and implementation, permitting, modeling and reporting. • Experience or training in air dispersion modeling. • Experience or training in meteorology. • Experience or training in atmospheric chemistry. • Experience or training in performing toxic Best Available Control Technology (tBACT) calculations. • Knowledge of state and federal air regulations applicable to the Hanford Site. • Experience calculating and analyzing emission estimates and source parameters for development of emission scenarios and regulatory compliance. • Familiarity with public health regulations and exposure calculations. • Strong interpersonal skills and well-demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. • Strong writing and editing skills. • Strong math and calculation skills.
