POSITION DESCRIPTION

Seeking an Enterprise Data Warehouse Developer at intermediate level to work on the projects focusing on the development of PIMCO’s Data Warehouse domain, a key platform delivering enterprise-wide analytics. The candidate should demonstrate an advanced level of understanding of data architecture, data modeling, data analytics, RDBMS systems, and data integration solutions. The candidate will support a full lifecycle of activities on data analysis, design, modeling, processing, and integration. Activities will include organizing and manipulating data across disparate sources, analyzing datasets, performing queries on data, managing business rules and processes to ensure the timely operation of data.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Designs and builds conceptual, logical and physical dimensional data models and third normal form artifacts.
  • Supports new data development, ensuring consistency and integration with existing data warehouse structure and framework.
  • Designs, builds and maintains data warehouse solutions to support Business Intelligence (BI) and Reporting projects using Informatica, Oracle and Micro Strategy
  • Ensure that the highest level of system and data confidentiality, integrity and data availability is maintained
  • Demonstrate knowledge in writing, understanding and tuning PL/SQL and/or T-SQL is a must
  • Understanding of relational database concepts and experience with data modeling is a must
  • Skilled in OOP design and development, preferably in Python
  • Develop and maintain data architecture framework and standards.
  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert in data warehouse concepts (star schema, snowflake schemas, and normalized and de-normalized data models). Analyzes performance statistics and recommend improvements.

Required Skills 

  • Deep hands-on understanding of Data Vault design and architecture for Data Warehousing. Currently using Snowflake (Inmon Architecture) and need to move to Data Vault Architecture.
  • Cloud-native experience, with either Redshift or Snowflake Cloud Data Warehouse technology. They use Snowflake and Wherescape for their tooling.
  • SQL Expert, with strong experience with data modeling, performance tuning, and analytical mindset.
  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related fields or equivalent experience
  • 8+ Professional working experience
  • 6+ years relevant work experience in technology environment
  • Sophisticated knowledge with Data Architecture (conceptual, logical, physical, transactional, dimensional, and Star/Snowflake modeling).
  • Ability to design and visualize a system’s architectural blueprints using UML, ERD, and Data flow diagrams.
  • Expertise in Oracle enterprise relational database with experience in query optimization and performance tuning.
  • Ability to design and participate in application discovery and architecture workshops.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Experience in banking or financial services preferred
