• Build database systems of high availability and quality depending on each end users specialized role
• Monitor the database environment to maximize database availability ensuring response time service levels are achieved.
• Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
• Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
• Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
• Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and upgrade to newer versions when required
• Assist development staff, IT Support, various business units with debugging and assist in implementing database applications
• Knowledge of Unix, Linux basic commands, crontab, sudo
•  Perform other duties as assigned and required

Required Skills

• 9 years Proven work experience as a Database administrator 
• Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications 
• Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL 
• Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically 
• REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE 
• Familiarity with continuous integration 
• Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding 
• Strong hands-on Experience with the Oracle RMAN Backup and Restore, Export and Import Data Pump utilities 
• Optimization of SQL queries and stored procedures 
• Leverage tools like OEM, AWR, ASH, ADDM, SQL Tuning Advisor, SQL Plan Baselines 
• Experience with Exadata, Oracle Cloud, Linux/Unix shell scripting, crontab, Oracle Enterprise Manager and TOAD 
• Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically 
• PL/SQL
• Knowledge of SQL Server
