Position: AWS Cloud/Migration Solutions Architect
Location: McLean, VA

About the Role
We are looking for an AWS technical lead to join our team and take charge of our development and test infrastructure. The person in this role will manage the fleet of services and work closely with our engineers to build a modern deployment pipeline. The responsibilities include automation and streamlining of our operations and processes, building and maintaining tools for deployment, monitoring and operations, troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure issues in our development, test and production environments.
Essential Duties
Conduct discovery and assessment workshops to help define customer business needs and requirements for migrating to public and private cloud offerings.
Be comfortable talking with upper management as well as customer technical resources and dynamically adjusting your message to the targeted audience.
Working in a cross functional team that can consist of Sales Engineers, Project Managers, Network and Security engineers to define a solution that meets a customer’s business requirements.
Provide detailed technical design for target state infrastructure
Perform technical presentations during pre-sale, client engagement, and migration engagements
Passion for cloud technologies and platforms. You must be able to showcase and talk to the advantages of cloud platforms for an organization.
Lead a technology stack on the team and be the Subject Matter Expert for it
Application knowledge of standard web platforms, and development lifecycles
Continued learning of cloud platforms internally and externally as the competitive landscape grows and changes
Perform as lead design and technical resource for a customer's cloud engagement
Perform consultation and support on-site with and for the client
Technical skill
Minimum 8 years of experience as an infrastructure architect
5 years of working experience as an AWS cloud solutions architect
Working knowledge with automation scripting / programming via CloudFormation, Terraform, PowerShell, Bash, Python) or application life cycle tools.
Deep working knowledge with Aws SDK and API/CLI
Working knowledge of CI / CD setup and configuration- automation, pipeline, scaling solutions and more
Experience with continuous delivery toolsets (Jenkins, TFS, VSTS)
Development experience with Infrastructure as a Code and limits
Development experience with Function as a code (Serverless/Lambda) and how to troubleshoot
Deep understanding of AWS best practices
Experience with AWS operations best practice
Experience with AWS networking best practice, design and implementation
Experience with AWS security best practice, design and implementation
Experience with AWS storage solution best practice
Must have deep understanding and experience with AWS migration best practice, design and implementation
Experience in building, designing, implementing, and continuous improving high-availability highly- scalable backend system using AWS platforms.
Experience troubleshooting code compile issues and exceptions (often unfamiliar code)
Deep knowledge and experience with AWS platforms and services like EC2, ECS, S3, Load Balancers, Route 53, VPC, Firewall, PostgreSQL, Aurora, Elastic Beanstalk, Elastic Search, VPC, Direct Connect and more.
Working knowledge of Application Performance Management (APM) tools.
Ability to prioritize task in a fast-paced environment
Ability to self-manage
Must be able to provide, update, revise architect document and diagrams.
DevOps skill
Strong understanding of agile and lean principles
Strong administrative background using command line using AWS, Linux/Unix and Windows.
Experience using command line for automation/configuration management using Puppet, Chef or Ansible.
Strong experience and background using Mysql, Postgres, MS-SQL, NoSQL
Working knowledge with PHP, Python, Node JS, Ruby, JSON, YAML
Working understanding with Git, Bitbucket, SVN, and others
Strong understanding with version control and roll backs.
Experience with containerization using docker, docker swarm, kubernetes, pods, AWS microservices, ecs and more.
Strong understand with CI/CD specifically using Jenkins, Jenkins Nodes, Pipeline, plugins and configuration
Minimum Requirement:
AWS Associates in Sysops, Solutions Architect, or Devops
Desired Requirement:
AWS DevOps Pro and or Professional Solutions Architect
Additional Requirement:
Must be residing in US for at least 3 of the last 5 years
