Desktop Engineer

Location: Schaumburg, IL

Job Description

• Perform diagnostics on desktop operating systems and applications to identify and remediate performance issues
• Install, configure and optimize Windows Operating Systems 7 - 10
• Test 3^rd party and custom applications compatibility with Windows Desktop Operating Systems 7 - 10
• Test and deploy Updates and patches for Operating System and applications to expected levels
• Migrate data from source to target systems
• Work independently at a client location

Required Skills

• Minimum of 7+ years of desktop support, application support, and supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems in a domain environment.
• Experience diagnosing desktop performance issues and resolving those issues
• Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience in supporting Microsoft Windows desktop infrastructure.
• Demonstrated past experience working to upgrade systems OS as an individual or on a team.
• Bachelor’s Degree with a focus on Information Systems/Computer Science or equivalent experience required
• MCP, MCSA or A+ Certification desirable
